Thank you very much for visiting Still Magnolia Design. I hope you feel like a friend dropping by to catch up. SMD has been my vision that has been brewing for several years now. My career has included over 20 years in marketing and 10 years in interior design, so it is now my delight for the first time to merge these into a design firm that will celebrate gracious living with clients choosing to express their authentic selves in interiors, fashion and events. In addition to offering design service, you will find me sharing ideas on Instagram, emails, and local events to inspire gracious living.
I have chosen the magnolia flower to represent my firm because it is an icon of all things Southern and while my business will not be a Southern product, it is our roots that define my approach. I identify with the flower because it endures, perseveres, and is lovely, but also known for being tough and resilient. The Still part of my name is a nod to my being a Southern girl living in the Midwest holding onto my heritage that values history, architecture, family, good manners, and grace. Southern style is not about geography, but rather grows from a sense of place and influence that blooms where ever Southerners choose to live. My goal is to help clients live the best version of themselves whether I’m helping them design a dining room to host family dinners, a cozy corner to work at home, a baptism celebration, or even a dentist office that makes them feel at home. I want to find the details that will make their life special.
In a world that is so busy and impersonal at times, it is my honor and pleasure to have worked with some amazing clients that have become friends and done multiple homes for them. For many clients, they had no idea how the spaces they occupy could affect so many relationships until we designed their spaces. Seeing how their lives were brought more meaningful through these experiences is why I choose to do this work. I hope you have been inspired and if you have a project for the future, you will consider working with me.
Cheers,
